Serie A continues to deliver, and this week is no different. The top four are starting to break away from the rest of the pack with Inter Milan still proving to be the leading contender to lift the Scudetto.
Friday 10 November
13/20 Sassuolo | Draw 3/1 | Salernitana 7/2 (19:30)
Sassuolo look a bit fatigued or a lack of confidence settling in the squad as they struggled to match Torino’s intensity. The 2-1 loss means they are winless in their last five fixtures. This is a chance to reset, regroup and put on a performance for the fans worthy of three points. Salernitana stay rooted to the bottom of the table and look destined to face the relegation axe. They are the only team left without a victory this season and will take something special to come away victorious in this away fixture. Back Sassuolo to get the business done and win at home.
17/20 Genoa | Draw 23/10 | Verona 33/10 (21:45)
Genoa drop to 15th place after a shock defeat to Cagliari last time out while Verona falls into the relegation zone after their fourth straight loss. Genoa head coach Alberto Gilardino will demand an improved performance from his side and having home ground advantage could play a key role in collecting maximum points. Back the home win.
Saturday 11 November
32/10 Lecce | Draw 24/10 | AC Milan 17/20 (16:00)
Lecce have now fallen way down the pecking order and are winless in their last five outings in the league. The Wolves need to put in a huge performance in front of their home faithful as they look to register their first home victory after three games. AC Milan have had a dip in form lately and come into this fixture winless in their last three fixtures. The Rossoneri will be determined to get back on track and have the fire power to deliver a five-star performance on the day. AC Milan to win.
1/3 Juventus | Draw 4/1 | Cagliari 15/2 (19:00)
Juventus are performing at a high level and sit two points behind leaders Inter Milan. The Bianconeri have not lost at home this season, scoring eight goals and conceding just two across these five fixtures at home. Cagliari are enjoying a small run of form and have got themselves out the relegation zone after two consecutive victories. This will be a tough challenge for the Rossoblu and will need to be both offensively good and defensively perfect on the day to come away with a positive result. Juventus to win with over 2.5 goals.
27/20 Monza | Draw 2/1 | Torino 43/20 (21:45)
Monza picked up their third victory of the season away from home with their 3-1 triumph over Verona. Lorenzo Colombo bagged a brace in their previous match and his energy and enthusiasm will be needed again here to pick up maximum points on home turf. Torino showed up in their previous game downing Sassuolo 2-1. They have a devastating attack with precision and high intensity which could help with claiming their third consecutive victory on the road. Torino have had the better of Monza for the longest time and will continue with this tradition and get the win.
Sunday 12 November
2/9 Napoli | Draw 52/10 | Empoli 9/1 (13:30)
Napoli hold on to fourth place after their 2-0 victory over Salernitana. It has been a difficult start with new head coach Rudi Garcia but never write them off as they have the prowess and pedigree to kill off any team on the day. Empoli are struggling to reach the high standards of Serie A and find themselves deep in the relegation zone. Sticking to the basics and utilizing counter-attacking football will help with a more positive result here for Empoli. Napoli to win at home with over 2.5 goals.
1/1 Fiorentina | Draw 24/10 | Bologna 51/20 (16:00)
Fiorentina have now lost three matches in a row after defeating defending champions Napoli while Bologna remains unbeaten in their last five fixtures after their 1-0 victory against Lazio. Maintaining a solid and organized defence could help La Viola come away with a positive result against an in-form Bologna squad. I see Bologna coming away with all three points.
51/20 Udinese | Draw 49/20 | Atalanta 1/1 (16:00)
Udinese did not let the pressure get to them after four consecutive draws and managed to pick up a huge victory against AC Milan. The victory will give them belief to go out and perform once again with the hopes of putting Atalanta to the sword. Atalanta won their previous away fixture and will be confident they can back that up with another important victory on the road. Having the better head-to-head record will motivate Nerazzurri to go for the win here. Back the away win.
7/4 Lazio | Draw 21/10 | Roma 16/10 (19:00)
Lazio picked up some momentum in recent weeks and went on a three-game unbeaten run which was stopped by a 1-0 loss to Bologna. The Eagles have won their last three fixtures at home which makes them a formidable opponent on their own turf. Roma claimed the 2-1 victory against Lecce by the skin of their teeth as two late extra time goals by Sardar Azmoun and Romelu Lukaku secured the dramatic win. Form goes out the window whenever these two teams meet, and Jose Mourinho will expect nothing less than three points. This could go either way, but I believe Roma have enough to get the win over the line.
2/11 Inter Milan | Draw 58/10 | Frosinone 11/1 (21:45)
Inter Milan close the weekend off with a home fixture against Frosinone. Inter continue to dominate and are unbeaten in their last five fixtures in the league while Frosinone come into this fixture full of confidence as they saw off Empoli 2-1. We can expect Milan to dictate play and show their superiority in front of their home fans. Frosinone will need to be up for a tough night of football and ready to give a good account of themselves with the three points as the prize for both teams. Inter Milan to pick up their 10th victory of the season.
