The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is set to usher in a new executive committee at its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for mid-November.
Current office bearers, including chairman Irvin Khoza, Kaizer Motaung, Mato Madlala, and others, will have their terms come to an end after serving four years.
The AGM will feature a comprehensive agenda, including the chairman’s annual address, declaration of interests, approval of previous meeting minutes, CEO’s report, audited financial statements, and potential amendments to the NSL handbook.
Beyond the executive committee elections, member clubs will also be tasked with deliberating on recommendations to the South African Football Association (SAFA). One of the pressing issues on the table is the qualification requirements for professional coaches.
SAFA’s technical director, Walter Steenbok, previously suggested that all coaches in the DStv Premiership should possess a CAF A license. While this proposal has faced some resistance, it could be revisited at the upcoming AGM.
The PSL’s member clubs are expected to convene at the Sandton Convention Center on November 13th to discuss these matters and shape the future of South African football.
