PSL PREVIEW WRAP: CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFICATION AND RELEGATION BATTLE IN FOCUS

Golden Arrows v Royal AM

Golden Arrows and Royal AM will battle to enter the top-eight when they meet in a PSL clash at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Saturday.

Home team Arrows currently sit ninth in the standings, only behind Kaizer Chiefs on goal difference while Royal AM are two points behind.

Arrows are still smarting from a heavy 7-1 loss to Orlando Pirates and will put things right and bounced back.

Royal AM’s last game was an entertaining 3-2 victory against Polokwane City and will want to keep momentum heading into the weekend.

Sekhukhune United v Cape Town Spurs

High-flying Sekhukhune United will be favourites to pick up maximum points when they host Cape Town Spurs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Sekhukhune are fourth in the league standings, four points behind second-placed Stellenbosch with seven games remaining.

Sekhukhune scored late on to force a 1-1 with Stellies in midweek and will be confident of building on that performance.

Relegation-threatened Spurs remain rock-bottom on the table, having lost their last three encounters, two coming away from home.

The do though have reason to feel optimistic after pushing champions Mamelodi Sundowns down to the wire in their last match.

SuperSport United v Chippa

SuperSport will be up for a massive clash when they take on Chippa at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Gavin Hunt’s charges are one of a few teams still in with a shout of finishing the campaign in second place.

They showed good character to come back from a goal down with 10 men to force a 1-1 stalemate with Polokwane City on Wednesday.

The Chilli Boys, meanwhile, sit in 10th place and will be hoping for a strong end to the season to force themselves into top-eight contention.

Polokwane City v Cape Town City

Polokwane City host their team from the Cape in a mid-table clash that will take place at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Rise and Shine sit in 11th position on the table after a 1-1 draw against Matsatsantsa and are still hoping for a top-eight slot.

City will look to arrest a dip in form as they have still not claimed a victory in 2024 after playing eight games.

TS Galaxy v Stellenbosch

Two form teams will take each on at the Mbombela Stadium hoping to stay in the hunt for a glorious end to the campaign.

Galaxy are currently sixth in the standings having ten of their 21 matches in the league campaign.

Stellenbosch extended their unbeaten record to 22 games following a draw with Sekhukhune on Wednesday that seen them now sit in second place.
