Sundowns thrash Chiefs at packed Loftus

Mamelodi Sundowns recorded their biggest win against rivals Kaizer Chiefs at the packed Loftus stadium on Saturday afternoon. It was a disastrous afternoon for Siyabonga Ngezana of Chiefs as his two first-half mistakes gave the Brazilians a 2-0 lead before halftime.
Chiefs had all the possession and missed two glorious chances including a penalty in the early stages of the second half before Sundowns striker, Peter Shalulile, extended Sundowns’ lead to 3-0. New signing Abubeker Nassir came on and gave Sundowns more firepower upfront.
The Ethiopian found himself unmarked on the left to toy with Chiefs’ defense and found himself a goal in the bottom corner to give the hosts a 4-0 lead.
AmaKhosi will take this defeat to heart and address the issue of their squad depth as it remains to be seen if striker Ashley Du Preez will be back before their home game in Durban against Richards Bay.
Mamelodi Sundowns used the Chiefs match to announce their fourth signing of the season, Bongani Zungu. Zungu returns to the Brazilians after spending some time in France and Scotland.
