PREVIEW: FA CUP SEMI-FINALS

It’s the final four in England’s oldest domestic cup! The FA Cup! It really does possess magic and intrigue, the games are all at Wembley and so you can expect the usual thrill and disappointment which continues to capture our imagination year on year!

Saturday 20 April

9/20 Manchester City | Draw 36/10 | Chelsea 52/10 (18:15)

City haven’t managed to beat Chelsea when the pair have met in the League, sharing the spoils on both occasions. I don’t think City have been at their best in recent weeks, they haven’t gone forward with their usual assertiveness and dominance and defensively they certainly give you a chance.

With that being said though, Chelsea is horribly inconsistent! You would never say it, but Chelsea is on an eight-game unbeaten run at the moment. They have accumulated a ton of points as well as confidence, but what Chelsea team pitches up for this one?

They absolutely rinsed Everton, and I think this is a lot closer than a lot of people are expecting. I’m going to favour a draw in 90 minutes…after that it’s anyone’s game!

Sunday 21 April

5/1 Coventry | Draw 38/10 | Manchester United 9/20 (16:30)

Coventry’s form in the Championship has been a mixed bag. Good wins against Huddersfield and Leeds have saved a bit of face for the Sky Blues – but coming into this incredibly important fixture for them, they have scored a solitary goal and conceded five in their last 180 minutes of football.

United’s season now almost rests entirely on the FA Cup. They have paid the price for stuttering season and now with European qualification looking more and more difficult to attain…this game is huge!

I’m not entirely confident, but given United have been on this stage before, they have players that are used to this environment and will know they have to play with a bit of grit – I think they win.
