Transfer: Percy Tau expected to finalise transfer to new club

Percy Tau scored as Al Ahly stormed to a 6-1 victory over CR Belouizdad in Sunday’s CAF Champions League clash, propelling them to the top of Group C.

Despite falling behind to an Aimen Mahious goal in the 21st minute, Al Ahly responded just before halftime with Wessam Abou Ali’s equalizer. Tau, who entered the game in the 42nd minute as a substitute for the injured Reda Slim, witnessed his team’s resurgence firsthand.

The second half was a dominant display by the Egyptian champions. Abou Ali completed his hat-trick with goals in the 52nd and later stages of the match. Hussein El Shahat added another goal shortly after Abou Ali’s second, making it 3-1. Even substitutions from Belouizdad, including Khanyisa Mayo’s removal in the 70th minute, couldn’t stem the tide.

Tau then got on the scoresheet, converting a pass from Karim El Debes with a powerful strike from the edge of the box. Emam Ashour completed the rout with a goal in stoppage time.

With this commanding win, Al Ahly now leads Group C with seven points from three matches, followed by Orlando Pirates with five. Belouizdad remains on three points.
