Orlando Pirates provides an update on injured players

CAF Champions League: Pirates face tough test in Algeria

Orlando Pirates have provided an update on their injury list, confirming that seven sidelined players have returned to full training.

The Buccaneers are currently in Algeria, preparing for their CAF Champions League Group C opener against CR Belouizdad on Tuesday night.

The team faces a packed schedule, with eight matches lined up between tomorrow and December 29, spanning both league and Champions League fixtures.

The Soweto giants are enjoying a stellar start to the 2024-25 season, having secured their third consecutive MTN8 Cup and topping the Betway Premiership table with 21 points after recording seven wins from seven matches.

Head coach Jose Riveiro will be encouraged by the return of Tapelo Xoki, Sandile Mthethwa, Deano Van Rooyen, Makhehlene Makhaula, Thabiso Lebitso, Thuso Moleleki, and Ethan Visagie, all of whom are now available for selection.

However, midfielder Goodman Mosele remains sidelined as he continues to recover from a knee injury. Striker Zakhele Lepasa is also unavailable due to an ankle injury, while key defender Olisah Ndah is still treating a tibia fracture sustained during the team’s 3-0 victory over Polokwane City.
