Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki has suggested he will provide Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kearyn Baccus with the opportunity to represent South Africa.
Baccus was born in South Africa but spent most of his life in Australia, before joining Kaizer Chiefs at the start of the season.
The 27-year-old midfielder represented Australia at youth level and previously said he would like to play for the Socceroos, but would consider a South Africa call-up should the opportunity arises.
“Last week I was also made aware that a Kaizer Chiefs player (Baccus) also qualifies to play for SA. So, the monitoring and the profiling has already started to see when to bring him in,” Ntseki told the media on Monday.
“We should bring him in with that understanding to say . what value is he going to add to the team.
“Everybody who raises up his hand and say I want to play for Bafana, we will do the right thing. Profiling, assessing and then doing the right observation that we needed to do to bring the player over.”
