No truth to Royal AM says rumours, says coach John Maduka

Royal AM coach John Maduka has hit out at recent reporting that the DStv Premiership is up for sale.

Thwihli Thwahla are currently struggling in the league this season with just two wins from their opening nine fixtures.

Social media reports suggest that Royal AM owner Shauwn Mkhize is ready to part ways with the club to recoup some of the money she has shelved out over the past few seasons.

Maduka is also said to be on his way out, with Clinton Larsen set to replace him.

However, Maduka says the rumours have no basis in reality.

He explained told the Witness: “We are carrying on with our duties as normal every day. We also attend our training sessions as usual and we did not hear anything like that from our management.

“As I said, we are all just performing our duties as usual. I am not sure where all these stories are coming from and again, nobody said anything to me about that matter.”

Maduka added: “We are trying our best and when we face our opponents, they also feel pressure from us, but maybe for now we are just unlucky and maybe it’s our silly mistakes during the crucial stages of the game.”

Royal AM will be looking to bounce back from a recent 3-1 loss to SuperSport United with a home clash against an in-form Golden Arrows.
