NEWS: “It was my choice to come alone” – Hyballa opens up about his Babina Noko stay

Sekhukhune United‘s newly appointed head coach, Peter Hyballa, has clarified his decision to join the club without bringing his own technical team.

The German-Dutch tactician, who previously managed NAC Breda in the Netherlands, stated that he opted to work with South African coaches at Babina Noko.

Rumors had circulated about Hyballa’s potential short-lived tenure at the club, but his appearance at Tuesday’s MTN8 media briefing suggests he is fully committed to Sekhukhune United and his current coaching staff.

We had discussions, we spoke about this and it wasn’t also… it was my choice to come alone, if you come alone [to a new country] it’s always the same, two cultures come together and I think it’s important as a head coach to take this culture,” Hyballa said.

“[If] I come direct with three assistant coaches, then it may have been a culture shock. And I want to learn the coaches, the assistant coaches, I want to have local coaches because I know my style, I go my way – but I need local guys who help me in this environment.

“But it’s also something to discuss with the club if I need one coach from Europe or like that, we can discuss about it, that was the reason [for not coming with my own technical staff].”
