Orlando Pirates winger Luvuyo Memela feels the belief in the squad has changed since Josef Zinnbauer stepped into the head coaching role in December.
The Buccaneers were struggling for consistency under interim coach Rhulani Mokwena with results changing for the better as soon as German mentor Zinnbauer came into the hot seat.
Pirates went on a run of eight league games without a defeat before last weekend’s loss in the Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs and Memela explained what has changed from the time Mokwena vacated his position.
Memela told reporters: “I think what coach Josef Zinnbauer brought was more belief than we had before.
“We had the belief but perhaps not so much because we were not winning our games.
“So, what the coach did when he came in was to keep pushing us and also work on our defence.”
Pirates will hope to bounce back from their loss in the Soweto derby when they take on Golden Arrows away from home on Saturday.
