Benni McCarthy was left disappointed after AmaZulu dropped two points in their 2-2 draw with Golden Arrows on Wednesday night.
Xolani Mlambo had opened the scoring on 24 minutes at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium ahead of a 30th minute leveller from the penalty spot from Knox Mutizwa.
The Arrows striker then missed from the spot before Motome Mathiane put Arrows ahead on 77 minutes
But Bongi Ntuli buried his 79th minute penalty for a share of the spoils.
The result left Usuthu without a win this DStv Premiership season and in 14th place with just three points from four games.
After the match, McCarthy said on SuperSport: “It was very entertaining, but I think it was a missed opportunity for us.
“We played extremely well, we started the game really good, high tempo with good chances that we created and we hit the target.
“Overall we can’t really complain too much or moan about coming away with a point because a point against a team who has been really good who started the league really.
“A point is better than getting a loss on our name and we scored two goals. That’s exciting and very positive sign that we’re moving in the right direction. So the team is slowly getting there to at our level best, hopefully, in the latter stages we can build something from this result.”
