Mandla Ncikazi: Busy schedule hindered Pirates’ preparation for TS Galaxy match

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi says the team’s packed schedule has limited their training ahead of their match against TS Galaxy on Tuesday.

While Pirates have struggled to fully prepare, Ncikazi is aware of the challenge they face against the Rockets on their home turf.

“The preparations have been very challenging due to the schedule. We’ve only managed to focus on recovery and analysis, with no time for physical training,” Ncikazi told the club’s media.

“We are facing opponents who are very competitive at home. Our past encounters have proven that. But we’re at a stage where we are focusing on our own performances, letting the result come as an outcome of how we play,” he added.

Heading into this match, Pirates are chasing a sixth consecutive league victory. The Buccaneers have started the season strong, with five wins that place them at the top of the standings with 15 points.

A win would be crucial for maintaining their early-season momentum, especially as they pursue the league title.

Meanwhile, Galaxy has struggled in the early stages of the campaign. The Mpumalanga-based team sit second from the bottom of the league table, with just one point from their last four matches.

Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic will be hoping his players can secure a positive result against Pirates, especially with the advantage of playing at home.
