Lucas Moura is excited to begin a “new chapter” in his football career after signing for Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day.
The 25-year-old Brazilian international joined the north London club for £25 million on a contract until 2023.
A former Sao Paulo winger, Lucas found himself surplus to requirement at Paris Saint-Germain this season, with the acquisition of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Speaking after joining his new team, the talented wideman told the club’s official website: “I’m so, so happy. It’s a new chapter in my life, a new challenge for me.
“I’ve joined a big club with big players and I look forward to playing and helping the team.
“I can play in the Champions League, which is a big objective for me and to make new friends is always a pleasure.
“I will give my best for this club. I think we have a lot of quality and I think we can win big things.”
Lucas was also impressed with Spurs’ training facility, adding: “It’s amazing, I’ve never seen a training centre like this. The new stadium as well – I’m so excited. Everything is perfect. I’m sure we will do big things together.
“Here, it’s a new challenge and as I said, a new chapter in my life. I will have the opportunity to play, to show my talent and my quality and it’s also a big Club, a big structure, a lot of fans and the history of the Club is also very interesting. It’s a pleasure for me to play for Tottenham.”
In his time at PSG, Moura scored 46 goals and made a further 50 assists in 229 games.
