Liverpool have set their sights on Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, currently dazzling at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old’s versatility and impressive performances have caught the eye of several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, Liverpool appear to be leading the race, as Marmoush reportedly views the club as his “dream destination.” Inspired by fellow Egyptian Mohamed Salah, with whom he’s shared the pitch 26 times for their national team, the forward is keen on a move to Anfield.
Liverpool have won eight of their ten Premier League games under Arne Slot (D1 L1), the most ever by a Reds manager in his first 10 top-flight matches in charge of the club.
The Reds are ready to meet Frankfurt’s valuation, with Sky Germany reportedly suggesting a fee around £50m could secure the talented attacker.
Omar Marmoush is the first player in Eintracht Frankfurt’s club history to score 10 goals in the first nine matchdays of a Bundesliga season.
Despite Chelsea and Manchester United’s interest, Marmoush’s preference for Liverpool could be a deciding factor.
If signed, Marmoush would not directly replace Salah but rather bolster Liverpool’s forward line with his versatility.
According to Transfermarkt, he has featured in five different positions this season, primarily on the left.
As he nears the final two years of his contract, Frankfurt are keen to raise Marmoush’s salary to £2.9m annually, though this would still make him one of Liverpool’s lower-paid players if a transfer materialises.
