Kaizer Chiefs will give their all to end the season with a trophy says experienced defender Sifiso Hlanti as the club prepare for a Carling Knockout Cup clash with AmaZulu on Saturday.
Amakhosi haven’t won a cup competition for eight years and their attempts at progressing in the MTN8 this season were halted by runners-up Mamelodi Sundowns.
They have endured a mixed start to their DStv Premiership season, with just three wins from their opening nine games under new boss Molefi Ntseki.
AmaZulu have just two victories as they get used to the workings of their new head coach, Pablo Franco Martin.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the 33-year-old left back explained that it was past time to “dig deep” and fight to turn their season around.
He said in the Citizen: “This is another opportunity for us to win a cup. We know very well that it’s not going to be an easy one because other teams want it as well.
“We are going to have to dig deep. We are fully positive. Yes, the supporters are not happy. We can’t run away from that.
“I think we need to stand up and rise to the occasion. Whatever we do on the field of play, it will come out as the final product at the end of the day. We want to win.”
Chiefs defeated Usuthu 3-0 when the two sides met in the league in August.
