Scotland, despite a valiant effort, were left shell-shocked by the German machine.

Switzerland Edges Hungary in a Tight Battle

The other Group A fixture was a tighter affair, with Switzerland narrowly defeating Hungary 3-1. Newcomer Kwadwo Duah opened the scoring for the Swiss, followed by a Michel Aebischer header just before the half-time interval. Hungary pulled one back through a controversial penalty, but a late goal from Breel Embolo sealed the win for Switzerland.
