Michael Reschke, a former sporting director at Bayern Munich, has confidently predicted that Bayer Leverkusen’s rising star Florian Wirtz is destined to join Real Madrid.
Reschke believes that despite strong interest from both Bayern Munich and Arsenal, Wirtz’s heart is set on a move to the Spanish giants.
The young midfielder’s exceptional performances have caught the eye of Europe’s elite clubs, and Real Madrid appears to be leading the race for his signature.
While Bayern Munich and Arsenal have shown keen interest, Reschke insists that Wirtz’s dream is to play for Real Madrid. This sentiment is shared by other football pundits, including former German international Michael Ballack.
Reschke has suggested that Real Madrid may be preparing for a significant overhaul in the summer, which could include a change in managerial leadership.
He speculates that former Real Madrid player Xabi Alonso, who is currently managing in the Bundesliga, could be a potential candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti and bring Wirtz to the Santiago Bernabéu.
“My personal opinion is that Wirtz will join Real Madrid. I think Carlo Ancelotti will be replaced by a Spaniard who currently plays in the Bundesliga (Xabi Alonso). Then it is very possible that he will take his favourite player. I have the feeling that everything could fall into place,” he said
Should this transfer take place, any club interested in signing Wirtz will need to be ready to meet Bayer Leverkusen’s substantial asking price, expected to be around €150 million.
