England Suffer Defensive Blow As Quansah Faces Two-Match Ban

Quansah was sent off after a video review ruled that his sliding challenge, with his studs showing, warranted a red card.

England had considered appealing the decision after FIFA overturned a one-match suspension handed to United States striker Folarin Balogun earlier in the tournament.

However, Quansah’s suspension has been upheld, meaning he will miss Saturday’s quarter-final against Norway in Miami.

If England beat Norway, the defender will also be unavailable for a potential semi-final, leaving him eligible to return only if Thomas Tuchel’s side reach the World Cup final.

The suspension leaves Tuchel with fewer defensive options at a crucial stage of the competition, with injuries already limiting his choices at the back.
