Despite a difficult previous campaign, the squad has shown promise in the new season, collecting seven points from their first four matches.
Reflecting on their early form, Alexander highlighted their resilience against top-tier teams. “If you look at who we played against, there is more belief in our boys,” he said.
“We matched Stellenbosch, a champion team and one of the best in the league. We also did fairly well against Sundowns.
“The points we’ve earned are on track with our targets for the season. So far, so good.”
The 35-year-old emphasised the team’s collective ambition to better last season’s performance. “The first season is always difficult, but finishing in the top eight was a great achievement.
“Now, the goal is to do better, and we’ve proven to ourselves that we can compete with the top teams,” he explained.
This season, Alexander has been playing a more attacking role, a shift from his previous defensive position.
While he admits it’s a challenge, he remains optimistic. “It’s a new role for me, but I’m adapting,” he said. “I always believe there’s room for improvement, and the more I play in this role, the more confident I get.
“It’s part of the game, and I’ll always give my best for the team.”
