Johnson has endured a poor start to the campaign with Usuthu as he lost three matches and drawn once in his team’s opening four games.

As such, the outfit from Durban are mired at the bottom of the Premiership standings on one point leading to speculation the 60-year-old is facing the chop.

Speaking after the 2-1 loss to Highlands Park on Tuesday, he said: “I have been under pressure my whole life.

“There has never been a day in my life that I wasn’t under pressure. If you were born when it was black and white then you would know what pressure is.

“I have been under pressure all my life. I have been a dead man walking all my life.

“It’s what we are employed for, the players know. They know the 90 minutes, 95 percent player and 5 percent coach.

“We do our work during the course of the week. They have to come on this field and they have to do it. In the end, we are all under pressure and we just have to go back, give them another chance. You have to work very hard because this is the profession they have [chosen]. They have come to the party.”
