Premier Soccer League has announced winners of the Betway Premiership Monthly Awards for January with Cape Town City coach Muhsin Ertugral scooping the Coach of the Month nod.
Andy Boyeli, Muhsin Ertugral, and Lucas Ribeiro Costa have been named the winners of the Betway Premiership monthly awards for January 2025.
The trio claimed the Player of the Month, Coach of the Month, and Goal of the Month accolades, following a judging session by a panel of PSL-accredited football journalists and broadcasters on Wednesday, February 5.
Sekhukhune United FC striker Andy Boyeli earned the Player of the Month award after an impressive January, netting four goals—including a strike against AmaZulu FC and a stunning hat-trick against SuperSport United FC.
Cape Town City FC’s recently appointed coach, Muhsin Ertugral, secured the Coach of the Month award after guiding his team to three wins in four matches. His back-to-back victories over Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates placed him ahead of strong contenders, including Sekhukhune United FC’s Lehlohonolo Seema and Polokwane City FC’s Phuti Mohafe.
Mamelodi Sundowns FC midfielder Lucas Ribeiro Costa claimed the Goal of the Month award for his spectacular acrobatic strike against Magesi FC in Polokwane. His goal edged out strong competition from Mfundo Vilakazi’s solo effort in Kaizer Chiefs’ win over Sekhukhune United and Devin Titus’ clinical finish for Stellenbosch FC against AmaZulu FC.
