Veteran forward Augustine Mulenga has said he remained hopeful of a return to action for AmaZulu FC after suffering a leg fracture.
Mulenga, 34, has been sidelined for most of the season, managing only one appearance before the injury struck, leaving him unable to support his side as they endured a challenging start to the Betway Premiership.
AmaZulu’s campaign had seen them claim just one victory from their first five league games, a win they finally achieved with a 2-0 triumph over Chippa United just before the international break.

Despite these setbacks, Mulenga remained optimistic about contributing to AmaZulu’s ambitions once he regains fitness.
Reflecting on his absence, the Zambian international expressed his desire to return stronger, confident he could make a difference for his team. “I know that if I was fine, I could have done something to help the team, to achieve each and every goal that we set,” Mulenga shared.
“I just pray to God to give me strength, and I believe that soon I’ll be back to help the team along the way.”
Over his two spells with Usuthu, Mulenga has amassed an impressive nine goals and 16 assists in 64 matches, establishing himself as a valuable presence on the wing.
His teammates and coaches have rallied around him during his recovery, with Mulenga praising their support. “The coaches have been supportive. They always encourage me not to look down and not to lose hope.
“Even the guys have been supportive since day one,” he added.
AmaZulu, with Mulenga watching from the sidelines, look to turn their season around as the forward works toward his return, hopeful that his presence would reinvigorate their campaign.
