AUGUSTINE MULENGA EAGER TO REPAY AMAZULU

Recent signing Augustine Mulenga is eager to help AmaZulu climb up the DStv Premiership table.

The 34-year-old former Zanaco and Orlando Pirates winger previously played for Usuthu, from 2020 to 2022, making 48 appearances and scoring eight goals.

He has since turned out for Zambian side Napsa Stars and South African side Chippa United, but makes a return to AmaZulu with a target in mind.

Usuthu are currently in eighth place on the DStv Premiership standings.

They are next in action against Cape Town Spurs at Athlone Stadium Sunday.

Mulenga said in the Sowetan: “It feels great to be back here. This team is my home. I feel loved here.

“I am eager to get down to work and help the club achieve the goals set at the start of the season. I am confident we can finish in the top four. I will give my all to make sure that happens at the end of the season.”

On his Chippa exit, Mulenga added: “To be honest I didn’t expect to leave Chippa, especially because I started all the games in the league. However, I don’t like to talk about what really happened there because now my focus is on AmaZulu.

“I feel indebted to the president Mr Zungu for allowing me to come back. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity.”
