Arthur Zwane embraces new role at Kaizer Chiefs

Arthur Zwane, former Kaizer Chiefs head coach, has expressed his contentment with his new position as the senior academy coach at the club.

After a challenging 2022/23 season, where Zwane was unable to lead Chiefs to silverware, he was replaced as head coach.

However, the club recently confirmed his new role within the development ranks.

Zwane, a club legend, participated in the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Legacy Cup last weekend and spoke about his pride in continuing to serve Kaizer Chiefs.

“For me, it’s still a big opportunity,” Zwane said.

“Being part of Kaizer Chiefs is a huge responsibility, regardless of the role. The expectation is always to perform at the highest level.”

Now overseeing the development of the club’s future stars, Zwane remains passionate about his involvement with Chiefs. “I’m a football person, it’s in me,” he added. “Whether I’m with the first team or development, I love what I do.

“Many people work jobs they don’t enjoy, but I feel blessed.”

Zwane also emphasised the importance of staying connected to his roots.

“Before you can conquer the world, you have to honour where you come from,” he said, reflecting on his personal journey and his gratitude for the opportunities he has received at the club.
