The former Kaizer Chiefs mentor led Usuthu to a fourth place finish in the previous campaign, trailing third-placed Amakhosi by seven points.
They were ousted from the Nedbank Cup in the quarter-finals to Casric Stars and in the round of 16 in the Carling Knockout to relegated Magesi, after losing 3-2 to Stellenbosch in the MTN8 last eight.
This season, AmaZulu get their campaign undeyway in the league against Stellies at the at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium before facnig Sekhukhune United in the MTN8.
Speaking at the launch of the league, the ambitious head coach explained the importance of winning a trophy, for the fans.

“It’s quite important. If you want people to support you and follow you, you’ve got to start winning. And silverware, you know, is one of the things that are very important for every club in the PSL,” he said on IOL.
“The fact that AmaZulu have always been there, it’s high time that they start winning cups. It’s high time that we start competing with the best. So we are just hoping for the best and I think something will happen this season.
“I just don’t know which cup we will lift. But we’re going to do something.”
