SuperSport United assistant coach, Andre Arendse, has heaped praise on Vincent Pule following his impressive debut against former club Orlando Pirates. The experienced winger scored a crucial equalizer and was a constant threat throughout the match.
“He’s a player who is helping your team any day, any day,” Arense said in the post-match press conference.
“He’s worked with Gavin and myself before, we know what he’s capable of. Despite his age, he is still young.
“We’ve seen what he can do in pre-season friendlies, in different games. We’ve worked with him in different positions around the team.
“He offered us a more attacking role today, firstly in wider areas, then we brought him closer to the just behind Bradley [Grobler] when Bradley was still on the field.
“And he gives you that and he’s got goals in him. My hats off to him today for being respectful after scoring against his old club, which is the right thing to do.
“That’s just the nature of Pule and I think we’re going to have a really good season ahead of us with a player like that.”
With Pule in their ranks, SuperSport will be looking to make a strong start to the Betway Premiership season, despite facing defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their opening match.
