The 21-year-old Nigerian centre-back was signed by the Citizens from Abia Warriors at the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

He only made one appearance during the whole campaign, in the 1-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs as he struggled for game time under former coaches Gavin Hunt and Pitso Dladla.

This term he had yet to feature under new head coach Khalil Ben Youssef and has now been released to find another team.

Mike Makaab confirmed the new to FARPost: “Collins Nwoburuoke is no longer at Durban City; the player and the club decided on a mutual agreement to terminate the contract.

“As I said, it’s mutual; both parties are happy with the decision, and we are looking forward to what lies ahead.”
