Former Bafana Bafana analyst Mali joins AmaZulu

AmaZulu announced the appointment of former Bafana Bafana technical team member Sinesipho Mali as the club’s Head of Football Strategy ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 32-year-old served as an analyst for the South African national team for the last four years under Belgian head coach Hugo Broos, helping the nation to a bronze medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and past the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Mali also had a stint with Chippa United as Sporting Director after also having served as Head of Scouting and Analysis at Sekhukhune United.

“My history with this great football club goes back many years,” said Mali via Usuthu’s club website.

“AmaZulu was the first club to ever give me a professional interview, when Coach Steve Barker was in charge. I also had the opportunity to work with the youth team during the 2015 Engen Champ of Champs tournament as the opposition analyst.

“I can genuinely say this is a move that has long been written in the stars. There have been opportunities over the years, but I’m grateful that the timing is finally right.”
