Sanele Barns is set to return to familiar territory, with Richards Bay sealing a permanent deal to bring the midfielder back from Stellenbosch FC.
The move marks a homecoming for a player who once lit up the KwaZulu-Natal coast and quickly became a fan favourite.
According to Diski Times, Barns is now headed back to his former club, where he will look to pick up where he left off.
While the transfer fee has not been disclosed, the Natal Rich Boyz will be thrilled to welcome back one of their former standout performers.
Barns first made his name during his initial spell at Richards Bay, where a series of consistently impressive displays saw him nominated for the 2023/24 PSL Midfielder of the Season award. He went on to rack up 62 appearances for the club before sealing a move to Stellenbosch in 2024.
The 28-year-old continued to show his quality in the Cape Winelands, scoring four goals in the 2024/25 campaign and establishing himself as a reliable presence in midfield.

However, Stellenbosch have endured a difficult league season, currently sitting 13th on the Betway Premiership table and battling to steer clear of the relegation zone.
Their immediate focus now shifts to continental football, with a CAF Confederation Cup clash against Belouizdad offering a chance to restore confidence.
Richards Bay, meanwhile, occupy ninth place and are targeting a strong push into the top half of the standings. Barns’ return is viewed as a timely boost, with his creativity, work rate and familiarity with the club expected to add renewed spark to their midfield engine room.
The Rich Boys face Golden Arrows on Friday, and supporters will be eager to see if the returning star can quickly rediscover the form that once made him a fan favourite.
For Barns, the move represents an opportunity to reignite his influence at a club where he previously thrived, while Richards Bay gain a proven performer as they look to finish the season on a high.
