The talented 21-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs reserve team winger was a standout performer for the Rockets last season as he helped the club achieve a fifth-placed Betway Premiership finish.
He continued his good form in the current campaign, prompting interest from both Amakhosi and league champions Mamelodi Sundowns – whose below par offer for the player was rejected by the club.
Dithejane has since been unveiled at Chicago Fire, where he will play alongside fellow South African Mbekezeli Mbokazi, who was signed from Orlando Pirates before the recent Africa Cup of Nations.
A statement from the MLS club read: “Chicago Fire FC today announced that the Club has acquired winger Puso Dithejane (pronounced POOH-so dee-TAY-zhan) from TS Galaxy F.C. of South Africa’s Betway Premiership.

“Dithejane will occupy a U-22 initiative slot and an international roster position, and his contract will run through the 2029-30 season with a Club option for the 2030-31 season. Per Club and MLS Policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.”
Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter added: “In welcoming Puso to Chicago, we’re adding one of South Africa’s best young, attacking players to our team.
“His dynamic energy will add depth to our squad this season, while also setting the foundation for him to continue developing and strengthening the team for many seasons to come.”
