For Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso, the message is simple: maintain composure after a 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates. Despite dominating possession, the champions couldn’t convert chances. Cardoso rejected claims of being too cautious, saying, “We showed the right mentality… if we continue like this, the goals will follow.”

Sundowns, with two wins in five, remain league leaders but are eager to reassert their dominance.

Galaxy, meanwhile, head into the clash boosted by a 2-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC – their first against the Cape side. Goals from Seluleko Mahlambi and a Sanele Barns own goal ended a losing streak and lifted them to sixth place.

Coach Adnan Beganovic praised his team’s spirit but warned of a tough test against the champions, recalling their 4-1 defeat on their last visit. “We must continue this momentum,” he said.
