Lehlohonolo Seema, the coach of Siwelele FC, has hailed Tebogo Potsane’s winning strike against Marumo Gallants as the potential turning point needed to revitalize their season and ease mounting pressure.
A Crucial Home Victory
Siwelele FC secured a much-needed 1-0 triumph over Marumo Gallants on Sunday, courtesy of a solitary goal from former Kaizer Chiefs winger Tebogo Potsane. This victory, earned at home, was their first at their stadium since the opening weekend of the campaign.
The result provided crucial relief for the Bloemfontein side, which has been plagued by inconsistent form and growing scrutiny on the coaching staff.
“The vibe and the mood is much better. We needed to turn a corner because it was starting to become too much for the players,” Seema told SABC Sport.
Grinding Out Results
While acknowledging the match was far from their best performance, Seema was happy that his developing team showed the mental fortitude to “grind out” the three points, suggesting that winning ugly is a sign of progress.
He used an analogy to describe the team’s current development phase:
“We are not cooking, we are watering. When you don’t play at your best, but you win, and the fans are happy, so for us that is a big positive. If we can fight like this at home, and fight even harder away from home, then we should have a good season.”
Survival is the Primary Goal
Seema concluded by emphasizing that the club’s immediate focus is not on league position glory or rivalry battles, but strictly on ensuring top-flight survival.
The win lifted Siwelele clear of the relegation zone, placing them in 12th place on the league standings with seven points from nine matches.
