Kaizer Chiefs break silence on Nasreddine Nabi situation

Kaizer Chiefs have finally addressed growing speculation surrounding head coach Nasreddine Nabi, releasing a statement on his current status with the club.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Chiefs had mutually agreed to part ways with the North African coach following disagreements, allegedly linked to his coaching qualifications ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

In their statement, however, Amakhosi stopped short of confirming a dismissal, only acknowledging that Nabi is not currently with the team.

“Kaizer Chiefs confirms that Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi is currently not with the team as discussions between the Club and the Coach remain ongoing. The matter is internal in nature and is being addressed through the appropriate processes,” the club said.

The Soweto giants emphasized their commitment to maintaining calm and focus within the camp during the uncertainty.

“The Club remains focused on ensuring stability and continuity for the players and supporters during this period. As this is an internal matter, no further details will be shared at this stage. We appreciate the continued support and understanding of our supporters and the broader football community. Any updates will be communicated through official Club channels when appropriate.”

The statement leaves more questions than answers, with Nabi’s future at Chiefs still hanging in the balance as the new season unfolds.
