Nasreddine Nabi discusses departure from Kaizer Chiefs

Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed his departure from Kaizer Chiefs, shedding light on the reasons for his abrupt exit and hinting at what lies ahead in his career.

Nabi missed the first weeks of the new Betway Premiership season as he attended to his wife, who was involved in an accident in Tunisia in August.

He was last on the bench midweek during their 3-1 Betway Premiership defeat to Sekhukhune United before news of his imminent departure was broadcast.

Speaking to WinWin, Nabi explained that they mutually agreed to part ways and that he felt the time was right to decide to focus on his family.

“My separation from Kaizer Chiefs was a mutual agreement with the club’s management, following a successful and challenging experience,” Nabi explained to the publication.

“Currently, I need some time to rest, focus more on my family, and monitor my wife’s health, which has required me to be by her side over the past period.”

Nabi has already attracted interest from a number of local and foreign clubs, including Etoile Sportive du Sahel.

“Indeed, several major African and Arab clubs have contacted me, but I will not enter into any negotiations at this time, as my priority is to take a temporary break and get some rest,” added Nabi.

“It’s true. There have been contacts from parties within the Etoile Sportive du Sahel management, and I appreciate this great club and its large fan base, but I don’t want to undertake a coaching experience in Tunisia at the moment.

“Etoile Sportive du Sahel is a well-established club and I respect it greatly, but the timing isn’t right for me.”

Assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze are expected to be in charge of Amakhosi when they take on Kabuscorp on Saturday in their first CAF Confederations Cup match.
