Promotion: Chippa United Bolster Technical Team After Backroom Changes

Chippa United’s ongoing revamp of their technical setup has taken another step, with Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala reportedly promoted to the senior team.

The Chilli Boys have faced a rocky opening to the season, navigating multiple coaching shake-ups as they search for stability and improved performance.

Sinethemba Badela, Musa Nyatama, Thembalethu Moses, and Prinil Deen have all departed the setup in recent weeks, leaving the club in search of the right balance on the bench.

Belgian tactician Luc Eymael was brought in as head coach to steady the ship, taking charge of the team in their 3-0 defeat against Orlando Pirates before the international break. He was assisted on the day by Morgan Mammila, who has now been reassigned to focus on the club’s development structures.

According to iDiski Times, Chippa have moved to strengthen Eymael’s backroom staff by appointing Mosala, the former Sekhukhune United assistant coach, who will now work with the senior side.

The club hopes his experience and tactical insight will provide fresh ideas and add much-needed stability to the technical team.

Meanwhile, Mammila has transitioned into a new role overseeing the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side. His presence was already felt this past weekend when Chippa’s development team recorded a convincing 4-2 win over Golden Arrows, signalling a positive start to his new project.

The Chilli Boys’ management believe the restructuring will benefit both the first team and the club’s long-term vision, with Eymael focusing on top-flight survival and Mammila nurturing the next generation of talent.

For Chippa, the immediate task remains climbing off the bottom half of the Betway Premiership log, and Mosala’s arrival could be the boost the technical team needs as the season picks up momentum.
