Transfer News: Khuliso Mudau yet to sign new Sundowns deal

Khuliso Mudau has yet to finalize a contract extension with Mamelodi Sundowns, according to his agent, Steve Kepeluschnick. Discussions are underway, but no agreement has been reached between the player and the club.

The 29-year-old defender, who previously played for Magesi and Black Leopards, joined the Brazilians in 2020.

Since then, Mudau has made a significant impact, appearing 144 times for Sundowns, scoring eight goals, and providing four assists. His contributions have solidified his status as an important part of the team’s defense.

During his tenure with Sundowns, Mudau has achieved remarkable success. As a key player, he has helped the team secure four PSL titles, four MTN8 trophies, one Nedbank Cup victory, and a prestigious African Football League championship. These accomplishments highlight his value to the club and his contributions to its dominance in South African football.

Mudau’s current contract with Sundowns is set to expire at the end of the season, although the club holds an option to extend it. While both parties have initiated negotiations for a new deal, Kepeluschnick has confirmed that they are still working toward an agreement.

He told FARPost: “Yeah, his contract is coming to an end, they have options [to extend]. We have been trying to negotiate with them for a new contract, but we haven’t found each other at this stage.”

This season Mudau has made 22 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing two assists.

But he is not the only player with a contract coming to an end, with the list of players not yet tied to the club for next season including Devine Lunga, Terrence Mashego, Marcelo Allende, Jody February, Sipho Mbule, Sphelele Mkhulise, Mothobi Mvala, Musa Lebusa, and Rivaldo Coetzee.

Fans of the Brazilians will no doubt be watching closely as the situation unfolds, given Mudau’s importance to the team’s defensive lineup and its quest for continued success on the field.
