Following his resignation from Magesi FC after a 3-0 Carling Cup loss, former coach Clinton Larsen has addressed speculation linking him to coaching positions in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Larsen cited poor results in the Betway Premiership as the reason for his departure.
Rumors have circulated regarding a potential return to his home province, with links to Golden Arrows (prior to this season), AmaZulu FC (after Pablo Franco Martin’s departure), and, more recently, Richards Bay FC (following Brandon Truter’s exit).
However, Larsen has clarified the situation, telling FARPost: “At this point, no. None of the teams have had contact [with me]. So whatever stories are out there at this point are just rumours,” Larsen told FARPost.
“Taking a break is when there are no offers at the moment. But if offers come, I would consider them. I, together with my family, will make the best decision for me. And we will take it from there,” he explained.
“As I said, it all depends on the offer, the club, what is the club’s vision and also, again, as a coach, do I have the necessary players to be competitive in whatever division I am asked to help.”
The 53-year-old tactician will be watching his former chargers take on the PSL top scoring outfit Orlando Pirates in Polokwane on Sunday. Kick off at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium is set for 15h30 SAST.
