Saturday 5 October

11/10 Udinese | Draw 2/1 | Lecce 51/20 (15:00)

Udinese hosted the current Serie A champions Inter Milan previously and lost 3-2 after a fine performance, barring some defensive errors and poor decision-making in the end. There are a lot of positives that Kosta Runjaic can take away from that loss and implement against Lecce in hopes of returning to winning ways and avoiding a third consecutive defeat. Lecce are winless across the last three outings after their heavy 3-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan. Scoring goals has been an area that needs massive improvement, but defense is their biggest issue as they concede too many goals. Back the home win here.

11/20 Atalanta | Draw 28/10 | Genoa 5/1 (18:00)

Lazar Samardzic came to the rescue for Atalanta in their previous fixture against Bologna after his stunning strike from outside the box levelled the score in the 90th minute to end the game 1-1. Gian Piero Gasperini will hope his team can reach their high standards from last season sooner rather than later. A poor second-half performance by Genoa eventually led them to a 3-0 defeat against Juventus previously, taking their winless run to four games and back-to-back losses. Defensively, they will need to tighten up if they look to come away with a positive result against Atalanta. Atalanta win.

7/20 Inter Milan | Draw 36/10 | Torino 15/2 (20:45)

Inter Milan quickly returned to winning ways after their derby defeat to rivals AC Milan. The champions edged in-form Udinese at the Blue Energy Stadium thanks to a stellar display from captain Lautaro Martinez, who got back on the scoresheet with a brace after four months. Simone Inzaghi will want to stay in the winning lane when they welcome Torino to the San Siro. Torino’s unbeaten run since the start of the new campaign came to an end after Lazio narrowly edged them 3-2. Paolo Vanoli will be determined to get back on track and winning ways but must approach this fixture with the right game plan and perfect execution if they want to walk away with a positive result. Milan to win.

Sunday 6 October

4/10 Juventus | Draw 32/10 | Cagliari 7/1 (12:30)

Juventus returned to their best and ended their dry spell of three consecutive draws without hitting the back of the net after Dusan Vlahovic bagged a brace and substitute Francisco Conceicao completed the scoring in a 3-0 victory over Genoa. Thiago Motta will expect the same performance from his men as they look to maintain their unbeaten home record. Cagliari have recorded their first victory of the season after a hard-fought 3-2 showdown against Parma last time out. The win is a step in the right direction and puts an end to their three-game losing streak. Facing Juventus will be a tough challenge and will need to execute their game plan to perfection in aiming for a positive result. Back Juventus to win and over 2.5 goals.

11/20 Lazio | Draw 26/10 | Empoli 5/1 (15:00)

Lazio bounced back after their narrow 2-1 loss to Fiorentina and were rewarded for their efforts with a thrilling five-goal victory over Torino in their previous match. This win will help restore their confidence as they prepare for another tough match against Empoli at home. Empoli is currently performing well and remains undefeated this season. The team will likely be feeling confident coming into this fixture, but they need to work on their offensive tactics if they want to maintain their position in the top six. Home win for Lazio.

15/20 Bologna | Draw 24/10 | Parma 7/2 (15:00)

Bologna couldn’t hold onto their 1-0 lead against Atalanta in their last match and had to settle for a draw after conceding in the 90th minute, ending the match 1-1. This draw was their third in five games. To achieve better results, they need to improve offensively by scoring more goals as they lack the cutting edge in the final third. Parma has been winless in their last four games with three defeats and a draw. This upcoming match could be an opportunity for Parma to succeed, but they will need to be clinical in front of goal and defensively solid. Bologna to win and BTTS.

28/10 Monza | Draw 2/1 | Roma 1/1 (18:00)

Monza is still searching for their first win of the new campaign and has recorded three defeats and three draws across the six games played. Finding the confidence and the right balance in the squad has been a tough challenge thus far for Italian legend and Monza coach Alessandro Nesta. Roma did not have it easy against Venezia in their previous fixture but for hard work and determination, they walked away with their second win of the season after Niccolo Pisilli sealed the win late in the second half. Ivan Juric still has a tough job getting Roma back to their best but with the quality of personnel they possess in their ranks, it won’t be much longer until we see the best of Roma again. Put your money on Roma for the win.

2/1 Fiorentina | Draw 22/10 | AC Milan 5/4 (20:45)

Fiorentina has had a slow start to their new campaign, securing only one victory in six games. Managing the game and defensive organization will be crucial in their upcoming fixture as they aim to secure a significant result against the Italian giants, AC Milan. AC Milan, following their impressive derby win against Inter Milan, continued their good form with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Lecce, marking three consecutive victories for Paulo Fonseca. This presents another opportunity for Milan to secure three points as Fonseca aims to build trust with his players in his new role as the head coach of Milan. AC Milan to win.
