West Ham have been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler.
New Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui reportedly wants to make the Spain midfielder his ninth recruit of a busy summer.
Former Wolves boss Lopetegui has already spent north of £130million on the likes of Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Crysencio Summervile, and he may not have finished yet.
However, the Spaniard said: “I’m not going to talk about names that are not here. It’s not my aim today. My aim is to be ready for our match. Let’s see what is going to happen.
“The market is open. We are going to be aware about it. But we are going to put the focus on the players that are here.”
One player trying to leave West Ham is last season’s captain, Kurt Zouma.
The French defender is currently in Dubai in talks with another club after a move to Shabab Al-Ahli collapsed due to a failed medical.
“Kurt is a fantastic person and a very good player,” added Lopetegui. “He is trying to choose his future. We are going to wait.
“It’s true that he is trying to talk to other teams right now. Let’s see what is going to happen. For sure, the team that has the opportunity to take him, they are going to be happy because he is a good player. I have big respect for Kurt.”
Lopetegui has captured Jean-Clair Todibo on an initial loan from Nice to replace Zouma in central defence, while England forward Jarrod Bowen has been named as club captain.
“He is an English national team player and he has the commitment at the club to become the new captain,” said Lopetegui.
“All of us are going to help him. He has a big responsibility. But the more important thing is what happens on the pitch. We were very clear he was a good choice.”
Lopetegui kicks off his reign in east London against Aston Villa on Saturday evening with Kilman, Fullkrug, Summerville and Wan-Bissaka all set to feature.
