Vukusic hails Polokwane City defence

Polokwane City coach Jozef Vukusic hailed his team’s defensive efforts following Saturday’s 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Vusimuzi Mngomezulu scored the only goal of the game in first half stoppage time and Rise and Shine were able to fend off everything Amakhosi threw at them to hold onto their lead.

We used our opportunity to beat Kaizer Chiefs,” Vukusic told SuperSport.

“We stood very well in defence. I can’t remember big chances there from that side. In the first half especially, we even had two or three counters which we could have used better.

“But ok, to win 1-0 is a nice win [because we have a clean sheet] and we scored such a nice goal, so I think we deserved that win.

City now sit fifth on the league table, level on points with Chiefs with two games in hand.
