Marumo Gallants FC has officially announced the appointment of Lafitte Alexandre as the club’s new Head Coach.

The 28-year-old French tactician brings an impressive coaching pedigree from his previous roles in France and Côte d’Ivoire.

Alexandre steps into the role following the departure of Abdelsam Ouaddou, who resigned from Marumo Gallants after a rumoured payment dispute. Ouaddou has since taken the reins at cup kings Orlando Pirates.

Alexandre’s most recent notable achievement was with Stade d’Abidjan, where he masterminded their triumph in the Ivorian League during the 2023/24 season.

Under his guidance, the team also successfully secured a coveted spot in the CAF Champions League group stages, showcasing his ability to deliver both domestic success and continental qualification.

Marumo Gallants FC President Abram Sello expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointment, stating via their official social media account, “Coach Alexandre has a clear understanding of the direction we are taking as a club. He joins ahead of pre-season, which is critical for continuity and alignment with our objectives.”

Coach Alexandre is anticipated to arrive in South Africa within the next two weeks to link up with the team. The club’s official pre-season training program is scheduled to kick off on July 1st, allowing Alexandre ample time to integrate with the squad and implement his strategies ahead of the new season.
