Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe has found a new home in Cape Town City, he joins on a free transfer following his release at the start of the month.
Makaringe signed a three-year deal with Eric Tinkler’s side and will bolster the midfield squad with a few other formidable new signings including Haashim Domingo from Raja Casablanca, Kayden Francis from Chippa United and former Liria Prizren player Prince Tjiueza.
The 31-year-old had a lacklustre 2023/2024 season at Pirates playing 14 matches scoring one goal and providing one assist which was his lowest since joining the club in the 2019/2020 season. His vast experience will be vital for City’s young squad.
The Citizens will miss out on partaking in the continental competitions having finished fifth last season with 45 points after winning 12 matches, nine wins and nine defeats.
