Thulani Hlatshwayo wants SuperSport United to put on an improved performance against Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership this weekend.
Amakhosi were far too strong for Matsatsantsa the last time the two sides faced each other, in the Carling Knockout Cup last weekend, where they won 4-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Gaston Sirino, Yusuf Maart, Ranga Chivaviro and Ashley Du Preez were all on target in a one-side affair.
As they prepare to come face to face again, Hlatshwayo has called on his teammates to take their chances and overcome a revitalised Chiefs under new head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
SuperSport have since been beaten 2-0 by Orlando Pirates in a Premiership match at the Orlando Stadium.
Hlatshwayo admits his side have had a tough start to their season, having already played a number of the top teams.
He said in the Citizen: “With the results we have had it hasn’t been smooth sailing, playing both big teams (Chiefs and Pirates) in the space of a week.
“Sometimes as players we want to play those games, if we win it is a different situation. But with the squad we have we don’t have that depth.
“We need to take each game as it comes. We have another one coming, we played them (Chiefs) in the Carling Knockout, we know what happened there. This is the time we need to be together and be strong.”
The player added: “If we had taken the chances we created, the complexion of the game changes
“It will be an interesting game. We lost by four, but they know if we had taken our chances it would have been a different game.”
