Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane says he has a lot of ‘experience to share’ when he finally decides to hang up his boots.
The 34-year-old Bafana Bafana midfielder is in his tenth year with the Brazilians but only appears to be getting better as the season’s role on.
“Mshisi” captained the Brazilians to a seventh successive DStv Premiership title last term, alongside his exploits for South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations.
He is set to be a key figure in an evolving Sundowns this season but has one eye on his future as he considers giving back some of the knowledge he has gained over the years.
Zwane said in the Sowetan: “I would like to assist the youngsters by sharing the experience I have gained.
“I have played under several great coaches at club and national level over the years and though they operate differently, the one thing they have in common is a work ethic.”
Sundowns are currently preparing for the new season with a number of pre-season friendlies in Austria and take on Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday following their 2-1 loss to German third-tier side SV Sandhausen on Tuesday.
They next face Championship team Cardiff City on Tuesday, ahead of games against Qatari side Al Arabi SC and Al Hilal to complete the program.
