Thalente Mbatha is set to remain with Orlando Pirates next season, says agent Mike Makaab.
The 24-year-old midfielder joined the Buccaneers on loan from SuperSport United this season.
He impressed in his time with the club, helping Pirates to second place in the DStv Premiership, and victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final last weekend, scooping the Man of the Match award.
His deal with Pirates comes with an option to buy.
Mbatha recently expressed his desire to continue with the club and Makaab has confirmed that Bucs are taking steps to make his stay permanent.
Makaab told FARPost: “At the moment, they [Orlando Pirates] are busy talking with SuperSport United to finalise the deal and make it permanent.
“But the deal is going to happen.
“It was already pre-agreed in the original agreement. Orlando Pirates had a loan with an option to make it permanent.”
Mbatha made 16 appearances in all competitions for Pirates, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
