THABISO LEBITSO BLOW FOR BUCCANEERS

Thabiso Lebitso has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken collarbone.

The 32-year-old Orlando Pirates defender was injured in the 4-0 victory over Royal AM on Sunday,

He was replaced in the 17th minute by Thabiso Monyane, having been stretchered off the field.

A statement from Pirates read: “The Bucs’ medical team has revealed the 28-year-old right-back has suffered a broken collarbone which requires surgical intervention.

“The prognosis of how long Lebitso will be out for will be known post his procedure.”

Pirates are currently chasing a CAF Champions League place and are in third place on the DStv Premiership standings – three points adrift of Stellenbosch – with five games to play.

They are next in action against sixth-placed Cape Town City at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.
