Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is chuffed to welcome Lisandro Martinez to the club, saying he admires the centre-back’s attitude.
The 24-year-old Argentine’s transfer from Ajax, where he played under Ten Hag, was announced by the Red Devils on Sunday.
Ten Hag is pleased to add Martinez to his squad and believes his “fighting spirit” will be a great boon for the Premier League outfit.
“He’s a warrior and I think the fans will admire him. He has an attitude, fighting spirit,” Ten Hag told the official Manchester United website.
“He brings aggressiveness in the game, in a good way. I think we need that.
“But also, he’s also skillful and he can deal with the ball and he’s left-footed.”
He added: “Certain ideas, he knows them. That is an advantage, clearly.
“But also he has to adapt, to a new country, a new club, new team-mates. So also a lot of things will be different.”
