Sekhukhune United boss Kaitano Tembo knows his side needs to improve quickly after picking up just one league victory so far this season.
The former SuperSport United head coach would have been relatively happy with the club’s start to the DStv Premiership season after drawing with Maritzburg and beating Golden Arrows.
And even after losing 1-0 to Richards Bay, they responded by holding Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-1 stalemate.
But Sekhukhune came unstuck away to Swallows on Tuesday, where they let slip an early lead through Victor Letsoalo’s 27th-minute strike to lose 2-1.
Tembo explained that by conceding just before halftime, they allowed the match to get away from them.
Mwape Musonda leveled in the 40th minute and bagged the winner with 10 minutes of the match remaining.
Tembo told SuperSport: “I thought we started well, in the first 35 minutes, we were getting into good areas and we created a few good opportunities, that’s why we took the lead.
“We also scored a very good goal, quite happy for Victor for getting off the mark.
“But I think after that we crumbled, especially after the goal. Because we gave away a goal which I believe we could have defended better.
“In the second half we didn’t create enough (chances) to be honest, also conceding a goal from a cross which we knew was their strength and we needed to defend well there.
“So, we need to go back and work because there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.”
