ABSA Premiership | Friday 25 October | Dobsonville Stadium | 20:00
To Win (90mins)
Moroka Swallows 14/10
Platinum Stars 18/10
Draw 22/10
Midweek, in this league of ours, saw a bag of mixed results.
Fortune favoured the brave, and some decent sides would feel they’d left some points out on the field after 90 minutes.
With a little more separation at the top than we saw going into the last gameweek, it seems the men are starting to separate themselves from the boys.
The biggest determining factor of the PSL, in my opinion, is the ability to be decisive.
Scrappy draws are more like two points lost than a point gained, and this is vital in the long run.
Both of these sides make reference to the point I’ve just raised
Stars, who are normally a formidable opponent at home, let it slip against a Black Aces side that should never really have posed a threat.
They gave up their lead twice and that cost them the extra two points.
In similar circumstances, Swallows, against a newly fronted Bloem Celtic, conceded a 90th minute own goal to again let precious points slip.
Despite Siyabonga Nomvete’s brace, they never put the game to bed and this cost them.
Both sides have the ability to be unbeatable on their day, and this clash will be a case of whoever shows up, wins it.
Swallows have home advantage, and have never lost to Stars in Dobsonville.
Betting Prediction: SWALLOWS
Without too much confidence, a home win at 14/10 seems the way to go. If you’re really looking to play it safe, you may want to consider going double chance on the home win and draw at 7/20.
